Blissful Journey Day Spa will be reopening May 23rd, 2020. We are excited to serve you all in the safest way. In order to reopen safely, we have made some policy changes. We are requiring all of our clients to please wear face masks. (If you do not have one, we will have some hand made cloth masks for purchase for only $3, one purchase per visit.) Also, to ensure we don't have overcrowding in the lobby, we ask that you please wait in your car before we are ready to provide your service. We will be happy to call, text, or simply go out and get you. We do have two lobby seats with 6 foot social distancing if you wish to sit inside the spa. If these seats are full, we ask that you please wait in your car. Fortunately, we have 3 front doors and an upstairs door. We ask that you enter through our regular front door and exit the middle door. Latoya Pettiford, our esthetician, has her own door for her clients to enter and exit, as well as Lila Kirk, one of our massage therapists. They both will contact you for the easiest way to enter the building. It may seem a little strange getting into the new flow, but this will get easier as time goes by. For now, we will still provide water, we just ask that you allow us to get it for you, as we will wear gloves and disinfect knobs after each use. We have 3 touch free disinfectant soap dispensers in bathrooms, and a touch free hand sanitizer at the front desk. We have installed Plexiglas at the front desk and a plastic cover over the credit card machine to easily sanitize after each use. 

I have personally spent well over 200 hours deep cleaning, sanitizing, and re-painting a good portion of the spa. I have also invested in a UV sterilizing lamp with ozone that kills 99.9% of bacteria. This light is used in hospitals to kill super viruses, including COVID-19.

• Ultra Violet (UV) light destroys the molecular bonds that hold together the DNA of viruses and bacteria.
• UV light is a particularly good option for sanitation because it kills bacteria, regardless of drug resistance and without toxic chemicals: coupled with ozone, it can cover more area effectively.
• The UV light only travels in a straight line, easy to have dead ends that can't disinfect thoroughly, while ozone is a gas and can move everywhere, removing odor, mold, germs, dust mites, pollen, bacteria, and viruses.

We will continue to diffuse essential oils, one of my favorite is Thieves. This essential oil blend is known for killing bacteria and viruses. It was inspired by the legend of four 15th century French thieves who formulated a special blend of oils which they believed provided protection while they were stealing. French authorities recognized that there was such a value in this mixture that upon the "thieves" capture, they received a more merciful punishment that they divulge the ingredients and their special formula. I have been diffusing this essential oil blend for years! I'm happy to say I completely believe in the healing and protective powers of essential oils.

We will continue to disinfect and wipe down all areas of the spa before and after each client. We will be removing all magazines. We will still have brochures available in the lobby. Please feel free to put on disposable gloves so you can safely get what brochures interest you. 

Finally, we ask that if you are experiencing any signs, symptoms, or have been around someone that has been exposed, please call us so we can reschedule your appointment at no charge.
